OFD to Host “Singspiration” for “Christmas for Kids”

(Oblong) — The Oblong Volunteer Firefighters Association will be hosting an upcoming fundraiser at the OFD Fire Station. The Oblong Volunteer Firefighters Association has sponsored the annual “Singspiration” for more than a decade. Organizers say that, with the community’s generosity, this event is one of the main fundraisers to support the “Christmas for Kids” program. They say that the program allows the OFD to help, on average, 80 children, ages 2-12, in the Oblong School District in need of extra help at Christmas. Sign-ups for the program will begin Monday, December 1, with paperwork available in the front lobby of the Oblong Municipal Building. The “Singspiration” will be held at the OFD Fire Station on Sunday, November 16th, starting at 6 p.m. Ball park BBQ, Coney Dogs, Hot Dogs, cookies, brownies, and more will also be available for a free will donation.
