dEUS were joined on stage by Placebo‘s Brian Molko to play ‘Hotellounge’ and ‘Roses’. Check out the moment below.
The moment came during a 30th anniversary celebration gig for dEUS in Antwerp, Belgium, on Thursday (November 20), and comes ahead of a full UK and European tour commemorating their classic albums ‘Worst Case Scenario’ and ‘In A Bar, Under The Sea’ next year. Molko surprised fans at the gig, appearing on stage as a special guest firstly during the ‘Worst Case Scenario’ section to perform ‘Hotellounge (Be The Death Of Me).
Later, he returned to the stage for the ‘In A Bar, Under The Sea’ segment to play ‘Roses’. The relationship between the two bands goes back to 1997, when dEUS supported Placebo on their UK tour.

The influential Belgian rockers will continue to celebrate their early years on the 19-date tour across the continent, though they will “not necessarily” be playing the two albums – released in 1994 and 1996 respectively – front to back.
Breaking out in the early ’90s, dEUS eluded definition with their experimental style of rock music, blending elements of folk and jazz. They also became notably more prolific than many other acts from their home country of Belgium.
They have remained active since, other than a hiatus in the early 2000s. They released their first album for 10 years, ‘How To Replace It’, in 2023.
The band last toured in 2019 to mark the 20th anniversary of their cult album ‘The Ideal Crash’.
As for Placebo, back in September, they released their This Search For Meaning documentary.
The documentary was directed by Scottish award-winning filmmaker Oscar Sansom, and explores the ideas, lyrics and subject matter of Placebo’s discography, as well as charting their personal growth over the years.
