(Undated) — As we begin a new month, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has fallen below three dollars. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $2.96 a gallon, eight cents lower than a week ago. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is a dime lower than last Monday at $3.13 a gallon. Indiana drivers are paying an average of $2.77 a gallon, twelve cents lower than the beginning of last week. Oklahoma drivers continue to enjoy the lowest prices nationwide, with drivers paying a statewide average of $2.33 a gallon, twelve cents lower than last Monday. Drivers in California are paying the highest at $4.51 a gallon, down five cents from Monday.
