(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded remains below three dollars ahead of Christmas. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the current national average is $2.81 a gallon, seven cents lower than Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $2.89 a gallon, six cents lower. Across the Wabash in Indiana, drivers are paying an average of $2.76 a gallon, eight cents lower than Friday. Oklahoma drivers continue to enjoy the lowest prices nationwide, with drivers paying a statewide average of $2.24 a gallon, a four-cent drop over the weekend. Drivers in California are paying the highest at $4.23 a gallon, down five cents from Friday.
