(Undated) — The Robinson Fire Protection District is once again highlighting space heater safety. They are joining the Illinois State Fire Marshal in reminding the public that before you plug one in, run through a “Space Heater Safety Checklist.” Keep heaters 3 feet from anything that can burn, plug directly into an outlet, place on a flat, fire-resistant surface, never leave a space heater unattended, unplug when not in use, check cords for damage, and use models with “tip-over and overheat protection.” For more helpful fire safety information, visit the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s website at sfm.illinois.gov.
