(Undated) — We could be in for a wet end to February. Paul Otto with Freese-Notis Weather says Southern Illinois could see a good dose of rain to wind down February, beginning this weekend.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, East Central Illinois remains the area of the state that needs the most moisture help as spring approaches. Champaign County and portions of Coles, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Iroquois, McLean, Moultrie, Piatt, and Vermillion counties remain in “extreme drought” or D3 status. Crawford and surrounding counties are currently listed as D1 or “moderate drought.”
