RAYE performed a new song, ‘Nightingale Lane’, at the 2026 BRIT Awards. Watch below.
The singer brought a full orchestra to the ceremony last night (February 28), where she was nominated for Song of the Year and Pop Act, for a lively rendition of her 2025 chart-topping single ‘Where Is My Husband!’.
As she entered the final chorus, she brought the tempo to half-pace and told the crowd: “The next song we’re gonna sing is about a man who didn’t buy me a ring. It’s such a shame, this song is called ‘Nightingale Lane’.”
She then launched into the ballad, singing: “Somebody loved me once/And someday, somebody will again/Like the way you loved me/On Nightingale Lane.”
It’s one of the tracks from her upcoming album ‘This Music May Contain Hope’, due on March 27, which she debuted back in January when she kicked off her tour in Poland.
RAYE’s new album will be the long-awaited follow-up to her breakthrough, ‘My 21st Century Blues’. The singer is currently on tour in celebration of the new release.
She’s confirmed that the tracklist will be set in four “seasons”, with each side of the vinyl release covering a different season.
“Music is medicine, I’ve always said that. I guess I’m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world,” she explained. “I want us all to say to ourselves that it’s going to be all right, and I’m going to have faith in the seeds that I’ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed or soft place for that person who needs it.”
In 2024, the singer-songwriter announced that her second album would be delayed following the theft of her car with her songwriting books inside. She then revealed in October 2025 that she had found her stolen car with her songwriting books “untouched”, meaning she could go back to working on it.
‘Where Is My Husband!’ became her second Number One in the UK and peaked at Number 13 in the US. It was named as one of the best songs of 2025 by NME, and was described as a “jazzy, soul-pop bop” that “showed off her formidable vocal chops with the help of a larger-than-life brass band”.
As for the BRITS, it was Olivia Dean who ended up dominating this year, winning four awards, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. See the full list of winners here.
