IDOT Announces Snow and Ice Response

(Undated) — The Illinois Department of Transportation has recently launched a website to track snow and ice response. The website has a summary on how salt and other materials are used to combat snow and ice, as well as video shorts on winter operations at IDOT. IDOT reports, over two-hundred sixty-two thousand tons of salt and over six-hundred sixty-three thousand one hundred labor hours for a total cost of one hundred four million dollars through February 2026.
