(Undated) — The Crawford County Airport Authority has announced the date for the “Grand Reopening” of the new terminal building. Vice Chairman of the Crawford County Airport Authority, Mark Herman, says the event will officially unveil the airport’s brand-new $3.8 million terminal building, a modern, ADA-compliant, climate-resilient facility funded primarily through federal grants, including a major award under the “Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – Airport Terminals Program” and state support, with a modest contribution from local airport resources. Herman says, “This is far more than a new terminal.” “It is living proof that even after total devastation, a community can come together, secure the resources needed, and emerge stronger. The March 2023 tornado, which impacted parts of Crawford and surrounding counties, destroyed the Crawford County Airport, leveling every building, destroying 19 aircraft, and scattering debris across the airfield. The Grand Reopening and Celebration is set for May 30th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
