(Undated) — This is the time of year for storms, storm damage, and storm damage repair scams. The Better Business Bureau is warning the public to avoid storm repair scams. They say to be cautious of “storm chasers” who seek cash up front in the aftermath of severe weather. BBB Investigator, Don O’Brien, says after you contact your insurance company, do your research.
He says the “pop-up contractors” are particularly dangerous. O’Brien says ask questions about the company, ask for references, and check BBB.org for customer reviews to determine a company’s legitimacy.
