(Undated) — Gas prices are at their highest level since the start of the Iran War. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.24 a gallon, $1.14 higher than a year ago. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $1.12 higher than a year ago, hovering around $4.53 a gallon. Indiana drivers have seen an increase of $1.07 over last year’s average. Indiana’s current statewide average is $4.12 a gallon. Oklahoma has the lowest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $3.65 a gallon, a $1.02 higher than the 2025 average at the end of April. California drivers are paying a statewide average of nearly $6 a gallon at $5.98, a $1.24 higher than last year.
