Rosalía is set to receive the International Songwriter Of The Year Award at the Ivors 2026.
The Spanish artist and NME 100 alumni will be given the acclaimed prize at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards, which take place at Grosvenor House in London on May 21. It comes after she released her acclaimed fourth studio album, ‘Lux’, last November.
This honour celebrates an international songwriter whose released songs had a cultural and commercial impact in the UK over the past year.
“Written in 13 different languages, ‘Lux’ represented not only a bold and innovative artistic step forward for Rosalía, but a revelatory project that transcended language and genre barriers,” the Ivors said.
They also praised the star “who has expanded the boundaries of music”, with her work “moving fluidly across form, language and genre, creating work that feels both deeply authentic and distinctly original”.

The prestigious Ivors celebrate the craft, cultural impact and enduring importance of songs and screen compositions. Other nominees this year include the likes of Wolf Alice, Lily Allen, Olivia Dean and CMAT.
Last year’s ceremony saw The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers take home the Special International statue, while Charli XCX was named Songwriter Of The Year.
In February, Rosalía picked up the International Artist award at the BRITs 2026, where she performed ‘Berghain’ with special guest Björk. She is currently on the European leg of her ‘Lux’ world tour, which kicked off in France last month. The singer is scheduled to play two huge shows at The O2 in London next week. NME gave ‘Lux’ a glowing five-star review, calling it “an arresting album of astonishing scope and ambition”. It added: “Dim the lights, put your phone on Do Not Disturb, turn up the volume and settle in for a truly one-of-a-kind experience.” The record later went in at Number Seven in NME‘s 50 best albums of 2025 rundown.
‘Lux’ track ‘Reliquia’ landed at the same spot on NME‘s 50 best songs of the year list. The cut was hailed as being musically “adventurous”, with its “gorgeous opening string arrangement melting into gently thumping electronic production”.
