Local Girl Scout Volunteers Were Recently Honored

(Undated) — A handful of local Girl Scout volunteers are being recognized for their service. Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois is pleased to celebrate the outstanding volunteers who earned awards at the annual “Recognition of Excellence” ceremony. Service Unit 544 was honored with the “President’s Award,” the “Sustained Service Award” went to Norma Trimble, the “Living Her Legacy Award” went to Debbie Parker and Lisa Wagner, the “Application Pin Award” went to Melissa Cottrill, and Jackie Johnson was honored with the “Volunteer of Excellence Award.” The Girl Scouts say these volunteers exemplify the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
