Drought Conditions Improve Statewide

(Undated) — Illinois has been in a pretty good spot for replenishing soil moisture this spring. DTN Ag Meteorologist, John Baranick, says we have been in a “very favorable pattern.”
Baranick says not everywhere has been as fortunate, including the southeast and Plains, which are being impacted by drought concerns this spring. Here at the WTAY/WTYE studios, we’ve recorded nearly seven inches of rain since April 1st. WTAY/WTYE continues to be an official weather recording and reporting station for the National Weather Service.
