(Undated) — May is Mental Health Month. Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness. During May, agencies across the nation strive to raise awareness, fight the stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. Since 1949, “Mental Health Awareness Month” has been a driving force in addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness says mental health journeys are unique, but the strength found within them is universal. They say that by sharing your story, spreading awareness, or advocating for change, every action helps break the stigma and build a more supportive world. Learn more at nami.org.
