Dave Grohl joined Sepultura at their final US show last week, while the band have confirmed details of their last ever gig.
The legendary Brazilian metal band wrapped up the North American leg of their ‘Celebrating Life Through Death’ farewell tour on Friday night (May 29) with a show at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre, and it saw them welcome the Foo Fighters frontman onto the stage with them.
Grohl, who once said Sepultura’s ‘Roots’ is the album he measures every Foo Fighters record against, appeared for a rendition of ‘Kaiowas’, an instrumental percussion jam that the band first released on their fifth album ‘Chaos A.D.’ in 1993.

Sepultura will continue their tour in Europe over the summer, including an appearance at Bloodstock Open Air on August 7 and a show at Dublin’s 3Arena on August 9.
They have also announced details of their last ever show, which will go down at the Mercado Libre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo on November 7. They will be joined on the historic bill by Metal Allegiance, Krisiun and Sacred Reich, with more names still to be announced.
The band famously played to a crowd of 30,000 fans at the same venue in 1991, and this time around they will be joined by founding members Jean Dolabella and Jairo Guedz, among other friends of the band. Max and Iggor Cavalera, who now front the band Cavalera, will not be at the show, however.
Tickets for the show are on sale now and you can find yours here.
Cavalera did play a special one-off show in São Paulo last year, alongside Massive Attack. The show was held to create a platform for the indigenous people of Brazil and the Amazon G9, supporting climate justice work and the campaign for the recognition and protection of indigenous lands.
It is not clear whether longtime Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande will be part of the show. He departed the group in 2024 after 13 years and joined Slipknot, replacing Jay Weinberg.
As for Grohl, he will be embarking on a European stadium tour with Foo Fighters this summer, including two nights at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium at the end of this month. They will also be playing a range of major European shows, a North American stadium tour, and have announced an Australian and New Zealand tour for late 2026 and early 2027.
Any remaining tickets for all shows on the Foo Fighters’ US tour are available here and for UK and Europe shows, you can find tickets here.
They also recently released their new album ‘Your Favorite Toy’, played an intimate Tiny Desk Concert show, appeared on SNL UK, covered The Vaselines’ ‘Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam’, and endured spicy wings and revealed their cringiest lyrics on Hot Ones.
