The Village of Oblong Board is scheduled to meet this evening with several items of business on the agenda.
The meeting gets underway at 5 p.m. this evening. Trustees will hear public comments and review delinquent water bills.
Among the evening’s discussion items, board members are expected to consider a request from Bill Burke regarding road closures associated with an estate auction planned for October 24th. The board will also discuss a proposal to donate the fair entrance carport to the Crawford County Saddle Club.
Several ordinances and resolutions are slated for consideration. Trustees may approve a resolution appointing an authorized agent for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, as well as an appropriation ordinance for village finances. The board will also consider a fair housing ordinance and an ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus village property.
Committee reports are scheduled from police, building and park, sidewalks and lights, streets and alleys, water and sewer, finance, and the Park Meadows Subdivision. The meeting will conclude with payment of bills, other business, and adjournment.
