Thursday Accident on Route One Kills Two

(Undated) — A two-vehicle accident yesterday claimed the lives of both drivers. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, at around 4:18 p.m. twenty-year-old Kaden Meek of Lawrenceville was southbound on Route One when he crossed the center line and collided with thirty-five-year-old Braden Doersam of Robinson who was traveling northbound. Rutan says Doersam was pronounced dead at the scene. Meek was pronounced dead at the hospital. An Illinois State Police Accident Reconstructionist was called to the scene. Route One was closed for four hours. Rutan says the cause of the accident remains under investigation. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County Rescue, Flat Rock Fire Protection, IDOT, and the Illinois State Police responded to the scene.
