Mrs. Velma Louise Thompson, known lovingly to many as Velma, passed from this life on June 12, 2026, in Oblong, Illinois, at the age of 95. She was born on September 25, 1930, in Bixby, Missouri, to Ellis and Mary Patterson Wisdom, and she lived a long and faithful life marked by quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and Christian grace.
Mrs. Velma Louise Thompson will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude. Her life was a blessing, her memory is a treasure, and her example will continue to inspire those who follow after her.
Velma’s family and friends will gather on Thursday June 25,2026, 10:00 am at the Robinson New Cemetery to commit her mortal remains to the Mother Earth that she tended so well. Pastor Aaron Peternell will officiate, and friends and family will be invited to share remembrances with those gathered.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
