(Hutsonville) — Flooding continues throughout the area. According to the latest “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, several rivers will remain above flood stage due to recent heavy rainfall. The Wabash River at the Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant site is expected to fall below flood stage early Thursday morning. However, scattered thunderstorms are possible tomorrow afternoon and evening. They say there will be “periodic chances of thunderstorms late Thursday through the weekend.” The National Weather Service says while it is too early for specifics, there will be some threat for severe weather, heavy rainfall, and renewed flooding at times during the period. They say it currently looks like the highest chances are late Thursday night or Friday. Increasing heat and humidity are expected Sunday and especially Monday, which could result in minor to moderate heat risk and potential for heat-related illness.
