Flood Watch Continues for the Area

(Undated) — A “Flood Watch” continues through tomorrow afternoon as flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. According to the latest “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, periods of heavy rain and a few thunderstorms are expected through today and tonight, and may result in localized flooding. They says a few “severe thunderstorms” are also possible. Locally damaging winds and hail are the main threats, but a tornado or two remains possible. Hot and humid conditions are forecast to arrive on Sunday and persist into next week. The National Weather Service says minor to moderate heat risk is likely, and these conditions may lead to heat-related illness in sensitive individuals or those without access to effective cooling.
