Cooling Centers are Available Countywide

(Undated) — The “Extreme Heat Warning” continues for the listening area. As a result, local authorities have announced several “Cooling Centers” throughout Crawford County. According to authorities, these Centers are air-conditioned buildings intended to provide safe locations for residents to temporarily find relief from dangerous temperatures during periods of extreme heat and humidity. The locations include the Robinson Civic Center, Oblong Municipal Building, Hutsonville Community Center, Heritage Hall in Palestine, the Flat Rock Fire Department, and First Missionary Baptist Church. Locations are typically available during “normal business hours.” However, if you are in need of a cooling center during non-business hours, contact Crawford County Dispatch for assistance.
