Double Homicide Under Investigation in Olney

(Olney) — A double homicide is under investigation in Olney. According to the Illinois State Police, yesterday at around 3:11 p.m., officers from the Olney Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Olney. Officers found two deceased individuals in separate homes. 52-year-old John D. Jones Jr. and 73-year-old Deborah J. Jones. Following the discovery, they requested assistance from the ISP. Authorities say one person is in custody and there is no risk to the public. They say this is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
