(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded remains above four dollars. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.06, four cents lower than Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $4.23 a gallon, down three cents from Friday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the statewide average is $3.49 a gallon, down five cents from Friday, making it the cheapest place in the nation to gas up. California drivers are paying the highest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $5.61, three cents higher than Friday.
