(Undated) — Dangerously hot weather continues statewide. The National Weather Service says temps will be in the 90s today, with heat index values as high as 110 in some parts. There will be an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for much of the state. Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, especially for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Cloudy skies and scattered showers are also forecast through the next couple of days and that front will help to cool things down toward the weekend, returning daytime highs in the 80s by Labor Day.
