Cold Front Could Bring Thunderstorms

(Undated) — Wet weather and cooler temperatures could be headed our way. According to this morning’s Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service, a broken line of thunderstorms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front this afternoon. They say the exact “areal extent” of storms remains uncertain, but some storms may produce damaging wind gusts of around 60 mph and hail larger than quarters. The primary time frame for possible severe weather will be between 4 pm and 10 pm tonight. Also, they warn that minor flooding will continue for several days along portions of the Wabash River. The “Flood Warning” for the Wabash River at the Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant site continues through Saturday. The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Saturday morning and continue to fall to 10 feet by Friday, September 4th.
