Sheriff Issues Scam Warning

(Undated) — The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department has issued a scam warning. In a post on their Facebook page they say in this day and age we all know we have to be on “high alert” for scammers. Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, says deputies are receiving complaints that the CCSO phone lines have been “spoofed” which means scam calls appear to originate from them but are actually scammers. Rutan says always disregard these calls. He says the CCSO will never call anyone asking for money. He says make sure to stay alert and let your elderly family and friends know this information.
