(Undated) — Drivers are seeing record-high Labor Day gas prices. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.09 a gallon, six cents higher than a week ago. The highest level ever recorded this late in the calendar year, eclipsing the previous record of $3.83 per gallon set in 2012. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $4.26 a gallon. Indiana drivers are paying an average of $3.43 a gallon. California has the highest statewide average at $5.82 a gallon.
