Maroons Soccer Team Fell to Newton

(Robinson) — In soccer action, Hayden Bonnell, with an assist from Jude Bonnell, gave the Maroons their only score in a 3-1 loss to Newton yesterday. Head Coach, Hilary Maxwell, says Newton is always one of their most dreaded opponents and has “mercy ruled” the Maroons in the past. However, RHS went into the game with intentions of “flipping the script.” Unfortunately, their game plan didn’t work, and they had to adjust on the fly. Maxwell says they missed out on “several key scoring opportunities” within both halves. They will be back in action tomorrow when they welcome Massac County for a noon game.
