(Undated) — A “Heat Advisory” remains in effect for the area. According to the National Weather Service, continued hot temperatures and high humidity will remain a concern throughout the day. The public is reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. The forecast is calling for an afternoon heat index as high as 105. The “Heat Advisory” remains in effect until 7 p.m. tonight. The current forecast is also calling for a slight cool down through the weekend and into next week as daytime highs fall back into the low 80s.
