He William Thomas “Tom” Burke Sr., 78, of Monticello, IL, died on October 25, 2026, at LaBelle of Danville in Danville, IL.
Tom was born on May 28, 1948, in Monticello, IL, to Walter and Helen (Thomas) Burke. He served his country in the United States Army.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a close relationship with them and always looked forward to visiting or talking with them on the phone.
He is survived by his son, Bill & Sarah Burke; grandchildren, Alysen Burke, Aireka & Elliott Stifle, and Audrey Burke; great-grandchildren, Baylor Stifle and Haisley Stifle; brothers, Jon and Dareld; sisters, Marilyn, Carolyn, and Phyllis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6th, at Oblong Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the combined units of the U.S. Army and Oblong American Legion Post #219.
Goodwine Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Rescue Squad, and memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
