(Undated) – Crawford County Board Chairman, Bill Burke, continues to make the rounds to provide insight into the “Crawford County Safety Tax.” Burke says the “Safety Tax” will be a one percent sales tax on “tangible items.”
Burke says this tax would help to recoup some of the revenue currently lost in the county.
Burke says that Crawford County is “at rock bottom” when it comes to sales tax and is one of only seven, out of the one-hundred-two counties in the state not to have such a sales tax. If you’d like to learn more about the proposed “Safety Tax,” you are reminded to attend one of the upcoming informational meetings. The next of which is set for tonight at the Annapolis Firehouse.
