Authorities Investigate Damage at Oblong Park

(Oblong) – Oblong authorities are investigating weekend damage to the walking path at Oblong Park. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, it appears as though someone lost control of their vehicle and drove over a portion of the newly renovated walking path at the park, narrowly missing a pair of electrical bases which were wired and ready for installation of lighting. Fielder says the extent of the damage is uncertain until Senco Construction can assess how much of the path infrastructure has been damaged. The ongoing renovations at the park are part of a six-hundred-thousand-dollar OSLAD Grant project. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Oblong Police Department and leave a message.
