CCEMA Reminding the Public to Stay Cool

By Tony Collins Jul 27, 2023 | 6:39 AM

(Undated) – Crawford County EMA is reminding the public to try to stay cool. The National Weather Service says daily afternoon heat index values are forecast to exceed 100 degrees through Saturday, peaking near 110 today and tomorrow. They also say nighttime will provide little relief, with heat index values only falling into the mid to upper 70s overnight. CCEMA reminds the public that extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. The impacts of heat are cumulative and are amplified with extended exposure. You are reminded to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.
