March Was a Busy Month for Tornadoes

(Undated) – The National Weather Service has issued tornado statistics for Central Illinois. According to their data, a total of thirty-nine tornadoes have been reported in the Lincoln National Weather Service, service area through August. March was the month with the most tornadoes reported, with thirteen. The report says fifteen of the reported tornadoes were of unknown strength, four were EF0, fourteen were EF1, two were EF2, and two were EF3 and contained winds of at least 155 mph. One of the EF3s is what struck Jasper, Crawford, and Sullivan Counties on March 31st. The other struck Fulton County on April 4th. Follow the link below for the full breakdown.
