By Tony Collins Oct 12, 2023 | 6:36 AM

(Vincennes, IN) — A ceremonial groundbreaking will be held Monday at the future site of the Lothian and Red Skelton Gallery of Art on the Vincennes University Campus. In August, the Vincennes University Board of Trustees voted to accept a gift commitment of four million dollars from Lothian Skelton, the widow of the late comedian. The 7,200-square-foot art gallery will serve to honor the legacy of world-famous comedian, and Vincennes native, Red Skelton. It will showcase Skelton’s artwork and will connect to the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy. The ceremonial groundbreaking will take place Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern. Lothian Skelton, along with representatives of the university, the Red Skelton Foundation, and the Vincennes University Foundation, will attend the event.
