(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is announcing a “precautionary boil order” for a portion of Oblong. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, Oblong Public Works employees will be replacing a main valve in the water system Wednesday. The boil order will be limited to customers who live north of Main Street and East of Range Street inside the Village limits. Water service for that area will be shut off around 10 p.m. and service should resume by 2 a.m. Fielder says the precautionary boil order will take place after the work is done until sample results are available.
