Watch Out for “Porch Pirates”

(Undated) – The holiday shopping season will officially begin next week and many will be shopping online. Authorities are once again reminding the public to be on the lookout for “porch pirates.” You are reminded that if you are purchasing gifts online, have those items delivered to an address where you know someone will be there to accept them. Make a signature mandatory for the package, check with the shipping company about “driver instructions,” or arrange to have a neighbor you trust to pick up packages that are left when you are gone. Ask to see if you can have packages delivered to you at work. If you see suspicious activity you are asked to report it to the authorities.
