RHS Math Team Wins at Regionals

(Undated) – The basketball court isn’t the only place RHS Students are winning. On Saturday, the Robinson High School Math Team competed in Regional competition at Eastern Illinois University. Mason Calvert scored a 1st place finish as an individual in Algebra 1. RHS also got first-place finishes as a Team in Algebra 1, the Calculator competition, and Oral Presentation. In total twenty-six Maroons qualified for the state competition on April 6th. Find the full breakdown of team and individual scores below.

In individual competition:
Mason Calvert placed 1st in Algebra 1
Josiah Hatfield tied for 2nd in Geometry
Alexander Calvert placed 3rd in Algebra 2
Owen Schmidt tied for 3rd in PreCalculus

In team competition:
Placing 1st in Algebra 1 was the team of Case Beisner, Eva Brashear, Mason Calvert, Evan Gilmore, Kate Rosborough, and Jayden Smith

Placing 2nd in Algebra 2 was the team of Alexander Calvert, Hannah Davis, Ian Gilmore, Leah Harbison, Lauren Staller, and Ella Tingley

Placing 2nd in PreCalculus was the team of Brynn Foreman, Noah Gilmore, Sydney Harmon, Aaron Hatfield, Lindsey Hevron, and Owen Schmidt

Tying for 2nd place in Fresh/Soph 2 Person was Audri Green and Mallory Mosbey

Placing 2nd in Junior/Senior 8 Person was the team of Hannah Davis, Ian Gilmore, Leah Harbison, Ella Tingley, Brynn Foreman, Noah Gilmore, Sydney Harmon, and Owen Schmidt

Placing 1st in Calculator competition was the team of Leah Correll, Jayden Smith, Emma Chan, Owyn Steele, Alexander Calvert, Lauren Staller, Noah Gilmore, and Aaron Hatfield

Placing 1st in Oral Presentation was Leah Harbison and Brynn Foreman
