IECC Set to Move Forward with “Synchronous Lecture Halls”

(Undated) — The IECC Board of Trustees has approved work on the “Synchronous Lecture Halls” at all four IECC campus locations. In September of 2023, it was announced that the IECC had received a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture which will fund the project. “Synchronous Lecture Halls” are designed to connect students to faculty members and educational programs at different geographic locations through high-quality video conferencing technology. IECC Chancellor, Dr. Ryan Gower, says this initiative is in line with the original purpose of community colleges, which was to make sure that residents had convenient access to a high-quality post-secondary education without the need to relocate or travel long distances. The grant totaled seven-hundred-nineteen-thousand three-hundred-eighty-one dollars.
