(Undated) – The official start to summer is just around the corner and the American Red Cross says traditionally they see a decline in blood donations. According to the Red Cross, as a rule, donations fall off between May and August. To make matters worse, they say they are seeing the lowest number of donors in nearly two decades. Red Cross Executive Director, Beth Elders, says they need more people to donate as often as possible.
She says it’s important that donors make an appointment to give now before heading out for summer activities. The Red Cross will be at Lincoln Elementary on May 8th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about the donation process and reserve your spot today at redcrossblood.org.
