Marathon Issues Warning About Loud Noises at Dusk

(Robinson) – Those that live within earshot of Marathon are once again being warned of loud noises coming from the refinery. Neighbors of Marathon’s Robinson Refinery will hear loud, short bursts of sound from a noise canon during the hour before and after dark. The sounds are designed to safely deter birds from entering the refinery workspace. Refinery officials say the noise in no way harms the birds, is in no way a danger to the public, and according to Marathon, is consistent with the refinery’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
