(Undated) – The ongoing lack of rain has prompted an increased concern for fires. The National Weather Service’s “Hazardous Weather Outlook” says dry conditions and “breezy winds” will lead to the potential for field fires mainly mid to late afternoon today, especially during harvest activities. The threat continues Thursday through Tuesday. They say dry conditions will continue tomorrow, bringing the potential for field fires during the afternoon, especially during harvest activities. Scattered thunderstorms are possible late Thursday night. These storms are not expected to be severe. Despite the brief rain showers the National Weather Service says strong southerly winds are possible Monday and Tuesday and may also promote high fire danger.
