National Average Continues to Fall Towards Sub $3 Mark

(Undated) – The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded inches closer to the “sub $3” mark. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the current national average is $3.02 a gallon, down three cents from Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.14 a gallon, down two cents from Friday. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average has fallen four cents from Friday to $2.90 a gallon. Oklahoma has the lowest prices in the nation at $2.44 a gallon, down four cents from Friday. California has the highest statewide average at $4.37, four cents lower than Friday. GasBuddy currently lists thirty states with averages below three dollars a gallon.
