Authorities Remind Drivers to “Play It Safe” During Holiday Travel

(Undated) — The Illinois State Police, local law enforcement, and the Illinois Department of Transportation are warning drivers to play it safe this holiday season. IDOT and ISP are partnering for their annual holiday road safety campaign. Authorities says there will be extra patrols looking for impaired or otherwise reckless drivers this week into the New Year. IDOT says a dozen people died in crashes during Christmas last year.
