(Vincennes, IN) — A stolen church bell has landed an area man behind bars. Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested forty-two-year-old Travis Heath Tuesday. Court documents show that on February 6th, Deputies responded to a church on East Royal Oak Road, in Vincennes, after it was reported that an old church bell had been stolen from the property. According to court documents, on February 10th, officers made contact with the owner of B&B Recycling, after it was reported that the 345-pound bell was located in Newton. B&B Recycling was able to provide authorities with the seller’s name and a warrant was issued for Heath’s arrest. Officials said the bell had been cut into pieces and sold to the recycling company for a total of $724.
