(Undated) — The current forecast calls for highs today in the mid-50s and 60s for Friday, a wild swing from last week when we had a “Cold Weather Advisory” in effect. Illinois State Climatologist, Trent Ford, says this type of swing isn’t that out of the ordinary for February.
Ford says that the current temperature swing is the result of an “active jet stream.”
Daytime highs are forecast to swing back in the other direction by Saturday and Sunday with daytimes highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
