Early Morning Fire Kills One

(Sullivan, In) — An early Wednesday morning fire in rural Sullivan County that killed one is under investigation. According to Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom neighbors called 911 yesterday morning around 5:57 AM, after seeing flames coming from a residence approximately six miles east of the City of Sullivan. One man, who is not being identified at this time died in the fire. The victim’s name will be released at a later date, pending autopsy and positive identification. Foul play is not suspected at this time. The Indiana State Fire Marshal has been called in to assist in the investigation. Fire departments from Sullivan, Union, Hymera and Thunderbird all responded to the 911 call.
