Oblong Board Set Budget and Talked “Hootenanny”

(Oblong) — The Oblong Village Board of Trustees held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting last night and on the agenda was a few items of interest. The 2019 budget was set and it saw an increase over last year of around $75,000, to just over 1.2 million. Once again this year the “Hootenanny” will have a “beer garden” which will also include wine this year. The “Hootenanny” will be held July 6th from 2-9:30pm at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Oblong residents are reminded that “Spring Clean Up” will be held April 25th for all paid up customers. In other business Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, has proclaimed April as “Safe Digging Month” and reminds everyone if you need to dig please call 811. It could be the difference between life and death.
