Panthers Fall to Hutsonville/Palestine

(Oblong) – The Oblong Panthers fell to Hustonville/Palestine 11-9 yesterday thanks to a late rally by the Tigers. The game was tied at nine with Hutsonville batting in the top of the seventh when Jess Newlin doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Gary Higginbotham got the win for Hutsonville/Palestine. He went six and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out five. Garrison Powell took the loss for Oblong. He surrendered three runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Nathan Meese started the game for the Panthers. He surrendered six runs on three hits over one inning, striking out two. Hutsonville improves to 7-8 overall and the Panthers fall to 4-12 on the season.
